Overview
Speed Dating is one of the most interesting social trends to have emerged in recent years. Speed Networking uses a similar technique enabling large numbers of people to meet each other. These events involve a series of mini-meetings, and each time the gong is sounded, participants move on their next speed meeting.
Speed networking is run using all the dramatic tools of a speed-dating event complete with name badges, a loud brass gong being sounded, rotating "daters" and voting cards to fill in which adds to the atmosphere of excitement and drama.
The meetings are centred on either 'challenges' or 'themes' or a combination of the two. At the start of each speed meeting, the participants are given a theme to discuss or challenge to perform. The aim is to guide the conversation and keep it fun and varied rather than a series of repeated conversations. These concepts can be tailored to your company’s requirement.

Options and extras
Themes and Challenges
The event may be structured around a specific theme, challenge or a combination of the two.
Themes
The conversation during each date will be based on a given theme with the objective being to get to know each other or become better acquainted (if participants already know each other).
The themes are designed to be fun and thought provoking with the intention that participants have a laugh together, thereby breaking the ice. In discussing the theme, participants will be required to think on the spot and use their imagination. The themes are designed in such a way that people can either give examples from their personal or working lives, depending on their comfort level.
The theme will be announced by our host and enclosed in an envelope on each table. Our host will inform participants to open the envelope corresponding to the number of the date.
Example 1: Would you prefer to always tell the truth, or have everyone else always tell the truth?
Example 3: Most embarrassing moment – time you wanted to crawl under a rock and die.
There are approx 30 theme choices and a full list to select from will be provided once the event is confirmed. Themes can be tailored to your requirements.
Challenges
Each date will be focused around completing a challenge with their date, the objective being to build rapport with the person through undertaking a fast and fun activity. Where possible, the challenges are centred on brands/products/divisions within the company.
The challenges are designed to be fun and interactive, requiring participants to think on their feet and draw upon their creativity, thereby introducing participants to one another’s problem solving and project management skills.
The challenge will be announced by our host and enclosed in an envelope on each table. Our host will inform participants to open the envelope corresponding to the date number.
Example 1 Devise an advertising concept using a pogo stick for a brand in your company (or give brand)
Example 3 Create a new tag line for brand x using the word "sticky"
There are approx 20 challenge choices and a full list to select from will be provided once the event is confirmed. These are then tailored to your company.
Prizes may be awarded to the most creative responses.
Voting system
To add some light-hearted competition to the event and to determine who is the "speed dating King or Queen" of your company, a voting system may be implemented. As this is a corporate event, the voting system is adapted to allow everyone only 3 votes, according to three different criteria:
1. Most Shameless Date (Hint: This person is probably the most memorable and was quite happy to share and no doubt embellish their experiences to impress you!)
2. Most Intriguing Date (Hint: Who was a wolf in sheep’s clothing?)
3. Wittiest Date (Hint: This person kept you entertained and in stitches throughout the date).
The criteria can be adapted to suit your requirements. At the end of the speed meetings, participants complete a voting card where they indicate their 3 choices for the criteria above. The facilitators will tally up the votes and determine the final winners. An interactive awards ceremony then takes place, with 3 people crowned the best speed daters of your company. We also call upon those who voted for these people to share why they voted for the person.
Venues
Speed Networking normally takes place in a sophisticated lounge bar, conveniently located in downtown areas. The client may either choose one of our preferred venues or select their own alternative venue. At our preferred venues, a minimum spend on catering is required I lieu of a venue hire fee. If a different venue is preferred, an additional room hire fee may be applicable.
